We get it. It’s ok, you are not alone, just remember that!

So, here you are, spending hundreds of thousands, or potentially more, on a brand new, one-of-a-kind custom home... super exciting, yet super scary at the same time. How will it all turn out, will the Architect and Builder know exactly what you want? Have you all communicated clearly enough with one another during the design phases? There are so many unknowns when going through the process and it can be overwhelming, to say the least.

Many, if not all, design professionals will not expect you to entirely understand their drawings, floor plans, or renderings. We all do our best to present them in a way that will get you as close to understanding them as possible, but it can be exceedingly difficult to include all of those little minute, yet important, details that will make your project stand out from the rest. This is part of why we offer the service that we do. It can be a bit intimidating to bring up questions about even the simplest of things, like how to properly read floor plans, in meetings with your Architect or Builder. Why is it that it’s acceptable to ask a variety of questions about a faucet, paint color or a floor material, but not about some of the items shown on Architectural drawings like wall sections, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, structural drawings, or how a scaled floor plan can show a spatial relationship?

We want to let you know we are here to help and potentially save you both money and time, while understanding exactly what it is that your Design Professional has created for you. Do not be hesitant or intimated to ask them for further clarification, or to let them know that you just simply do not understand how a space will feel when translated from those drawings to real life. We use Virtual Reality to solve that issue and encourage you to request this service from your Designer as well.

So, at the end of the day, do not be afraid to confess that you do not entirely understand something, no matter how simple it may be. And of course, feel free to mention Sensuus to your Design Professional. Reach out to us at info@sensuus.com for more information or to schedule a demo, we’re always more than happy to help.

We the clients, in order to be happy and live our best lives, desire a method to understand what it is you’re designing for us and do support, in fact, encourage, the use of new technology, such as Virtual Reality, to pave the path forward and truly make our dreams come true.
